With all the things kids touch, they need to know how to wash their hands correctly! To effectively remove germs, teach your child to follow all of the steps below:
Wet your hands with clean running water and apply soap. Use warm water if it is available. |
Rub hands together to make a lather and scrub all surfaces. |
Continue rubbing hands for 20 seconds. Sing the A-B-C song or “Happy Birthday” twice, or sing along with our songbox! |
Rinse hands well under running water. |
Dry your hands using a paper towel or air dryer. If possible, use your paper towel to turn off the faucet. |
If no soap and water is available, you can use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. When using sanitizer, apply product to the back and front of hands and rub until dry. Sanitizer will not remove germs from visibly dirty hands.
