About Us
Created in 2009, the Clean Hands Campaign is a partnership of hospitals and health departments from Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee, and Sarasota counties. The goal is to raise awareness about the need for hand washing as an important step in preventing the spread of respiratory flu and many other diseases.
In 2011, the campaign created a special section for children under 5 for two reasons:
- The age group has an increased risk of flu-related complications
- Life-long hanwashing habits are created by teaching hand washing from an early age.
To date, we have received enthusiastic community support in the form of toolkit requests and website hits. We have also received support for the Clean Hands Campaign from more than 100 Community Partners. We welcome continuing partnerships with businesses, schools and organizations in southwest Florida.
